## What we do

Your plan, the add-ons, and what falls outside our work.

What is included in the Lawn Pro Foundations program?+

Foundations is our core lawn program: **7 applications across 5 rounds**, built from the soil up. Every round has its own window.

| Round | Window | What we apply |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Round 1 | Apr 1 – May 12 | Slow-release fertilizer, crabgrass pre-emergent and broadleaf weed control |
| Round 2 | May 13 – Jun 23 | Iron-rich fertilizer and a second weed control pass |
| Round 3 | Jun 24 – Aug 4 | Summer fertilizer plus Allectus insect control for grubs and chinch bugs (2 applications) |
| Round 4 | Aug 5 – Sep 15 | Recovery fertilizer for summer heat stress and weed control |
| Round 5 | Sep 16 – Oct 31 | Winterizing fertilizer plus Solu-Cal lime for soil pH (2 applications) |

All 7 applications work together, so they are not offered individually. [See the full program](https://www.lawnprony.com/our-program?hsLang=en)

What add-on programs do you offer?+

- **Fungus Preventative** Add-on: 3 liquid applications done with Rounds 2, 3 and 4 to stop summer fungus before it shows.
- **Nutsedge Curative** Add-on: treated in Round 3, with a follow-up if it persists.
- **Tick Pro**: tick and flea protection for your family and pets.
- **Mosquito Pro**: seasonal barrier sprays for your outdoor living space.
- **Deer Pro**: repellent applications that protect your shrubs and plantings.
- **Lawn Renewal**: dethatching, core aeration and seeding to thicken thin turf.

[Build my plan](https://www.lawnprony.com/quote-request?hsLang=en) to add any of these.

Do you offer organic treatments?+

Organic options are available for our tick, flea and mosquito programs. Our lawn program is not organic.

Do you mow or do spring cleanups?+

No. We don't mow lawns. We engineer them. Our work is soil, fertilization, weed and insect control, and property protection. If you need a landscaper, ask us and we are happy to recommend one.

Is there anything you don't treat?+

- **Grass types, not weeds:** tall fescue, bentgrass and Japanese stiltgrass. The best way to replace them is aeration and seeding.
- **Moss:** a hardware store product can help, but it often returns unless the shade or soil cause is fixed.
- **Moles and voles:** our insect control cuts their food supply, but removal needs a pest control company.
- **Ants:** our lawn insect control does not target ants.
- **Mushrooms:** they grow from natural spores in the soil and aren't harmful. Kick them over or mow them down and they'll die out on their own.

We also can't apply products you purchased yourself.

What areas do you serve?+

All of Long Island, across Nassau and Suffolk County.

How do I get a quote?+

[Build my plan](https://www.lawnprony.com/quote-request?hsLang=en) online and pick what you're interested in. We'll email you a custom quote within 1 business day. To accept, reply to the quote email or call our office.

Visits & scheduling

## When we come

Timing, notifications and rescheduling.

When is my first application?+

Round 1 runs April 1 to May 12. A late April or early May visit gives you the same coverage as an early April one.

How often will you come?+

- Lawn applications: about every 6 weeks
- Tick and mosquito sprays: every 4 to 5 weeks
- Deer sprays: once a month, mid-month

Our season runs April 1 to October 31 and can extend into November in Nassau County.

What time will the applicator arrive?+

Applications are generally done between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You don't need to be home.

Will I be notified before an application?+

Not automatically. If you'd like a call or text the day before each visit, ask us to add call-ahead service to your account.

How will I know you were here?+

Your applicator places a yellow flag at your property's entry points showing the date and time of the application. You'll also get a Service Summary email after each visit.

I need to reschedule. What happens?+

Call or text us and we'll find a new date. We can reschedule up to twice per round. After that, we move you to the next round so the timing still works for your lawn. You stay fully covered.

My sprinklers aren't on yet. Can I still get my first application?+

Yes. The first application won't burn your lawn. It sits on the lawn until it's watered in.

I haven't done my spring cleanup yet. Is that a problem?+

Light debris is fine. If there's heavy debris, we'll hold your application until it's cleared so the product reaches the soil.

I'm planning to aerate or seed on my own. What should I know?+

- Wait at least 2 weeks after a weed control application before you seed.
- After seeding, we wait 4 to 6 weeks before treating that lawn.
- New seed can take up to 3 weeks to come up.

Please tell us your seeding date so we can adjust your schedule. You can also let us handle it with our Lawn Renewal service.

After a visit

## Kids, pets & weather

What to do once we've been out.

When can my kids and pets go back on the lawn?+

- **People:** stay off the lawn for 24 hours after the application has been thoroughly watered in.
- **Pets:** can go back on the lawn after 2 to 3 hours.

**For pets:** wipe their paws before they come back inside, and make sure they don't eat the grass.

What if it rains after my application?+

We use a sticker product that holds up to a moderate drizzle. Check your weeds 7 to 10 days later. If they're still there after 10 days, contact us and we'll schedule a service call.

What does the fertilizer look like?+

Fertilizer is a small pellet. Round 1 is usually bright yellow and later rounds are usually blue or white. Weed control, fungus treatments and crabgrass control are liquids.

My landscaper mowed the same day as my application. Is that okay?+

Usually, yes. Look for green-up over the next 7 to 10 days. If you don't see improvement, contact us and we'll schedule a light service call.

Watering & mowing

## Your part of the plan

Simple habits that make every round work harder.

Can I water before and after my application?+

Before: yes, just finish by 8:00 AM on application day. After: keep your regular schedule, ideally watering the next morning. If you need to water sooner, wait at least 4 hours.

When and how much should I water?+

Water early in the morning, finishing around 8:00 AM. It rinses off the dew and loses less to evaporation.

- Under 82°F: every other day, about 25 minutes per zone
- Over 82°F: every other day, about 40 minutes per zone

My lawn looks dry and stressed from the heat. What should I do?+

Water heavily every day, at least 30 minutes, until it recovers. Then go back to every other day. Check your town's watering restrictions first.

Can I mow after my application?+

Yes. Mowing the next day is fine once the lawn has been watered. Your mower won't pick up the fertilizer. Fungus treatments are liquid, so you can even mow the same day.

How high should I mow?+

Keep your mower at 3 to 3.5 inches. Taller grass shades out weeds and holds moisture.

Lawn concerns

## Something doesn't look right

Common sightings and what they mean. Photos help: email them to contact@lawnprony.com.

I still see weeds after my application.+

Weeds usually die off within 2 to 5 days. If they're still there 10 days after your application, contact us and we'll schedule a service call.

I think I have fungus.+

If you're on our Fungus Preventative program, contact us and we'll schedule a service call. If not, Long Island summers make fungus common, and our preventative add-on stops it before it shows. Send us a photo and we'll take a look.

I have mushrooms in my lawn.+

Mushrooms come from natural spores in the soil and aren't harmful. Kick them over or mow them down, and they'll die out on their own.

What is the reddish color in my grass?+

That's likely red thread, a discoloration caused by rain and humidity. It doesn't damage the lawn, goes away on its own, and our fertilizer helps the grass grow out of it.

Will you get rid of my clover and crabgrass?+

Yes, both are part of the program, but they take time. Clover can take a full season or more to clear. Heavy crabgrass can take 2 to 3 seasons, and fall seeding helps crowd it out faster.

I see grubs or chinch bug damage.+

Our Round 3 Allectus insect control treats both. Email us a photo and your applicator will review it.

I have nutsedge.+

Nutsedge is treated in Round 3 with our Nutsedge Curative add-on. If it's still there 10 days after treatment, send us a photo and we'll schedule a follow-up.

What are the frilly white tops in my lawn in spring?+

That's Poa annua, a type of bluegrass, not a weed. The seed heads die off as it warms up and blend in as you mow.

There's a white powder on my grass.+

That's powdery mildew. It isn't harmful and can be brushed away with a broom.

What about wild violets and creeping Charlie?+

We target them in the fall, when cooler temperatures make them most vulnerable to treatment.

What if I have a concern between visits?+

Call us or email photos to contact@lawnprony.com. We'll follow up within 48 hours, and service calls are available when your lawn needs a closer look.

Billing & account

## Payments & renewals

Invoices, discounts and your client portal.

Where can I find my invoice?+

In the Service Summary email we send after each application, or in your client portal. If you prefer paper, we can mail a copy.

How can I pay?+

Through your [client portal](https://lawngateway.com/LawnProAmerica/Login_New.aspx), with AutoPay, by phone, or by check made payable to Lawn Pro America. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, checks and money orders. We don't accept cash.

Do you offer discounts?+

Yes:

- **5% off** every bill when you set up AutoPay in your client portal
- **10% off** when you prepay for the full season. Call our office to set it up.

Discounts can't be combined.

Why are my Round 3 and Round 5 bills higher?+

Each of those rounds includes two applications in one visit. Round 3 is summer fertilizer plus insect control, and Round 5 is the fall feeding plus lime. Each application is billed separately.

How do I set up my client portal?+

Select Login & Pay Online, then click **Create a Login**. Enter your customer number, house number, zip code and email, then click Submit. We'll email you a link to create your password. [See the Client Portal Pro guide](https://www.lawnprony.com/client-portal?hsLang=en)

Where do I find my customer number?+

On your invoice, in the My Account section of your client portal, or by calling our office.

Will my services renew automatically?+

No. Each year you'll receive a renewal agreement to sign and return, which activates your services for the next season.

Do you have a referral program?+

Yes. Refer a friend and get a **$50 gift card** when they sign up for a season. [Refer a friend](https://www.lawnprony.com/refer-a-friend?hsLang=en)
